Our Leadership History:
Lisa Stephens
Founding Director of LYM
Lisa Stephens is dedicated to connecting students with caring adult mentors who help them grow, thrive, and succeed. Since 2005, she has led and strengthened school-based mentoring efforts across Jackson County, Jefferson City, and Commerce City through Legacy Youth Mentoring and Lindsay’s Legacy Mentoring, Inc.
Under her leadership, the program has grown into a strong network of 327 mentors serving 347 students, supported by intentional training, resources, and college scholarship opportunities that sustain meaningful mentor relationships.
When asked about her longevity with Legacy Youth Mentoring, Lisa simply shares, “I love the mission. I love the impact mentoring had on my life as a young person—and now on the lives of countless others.”
In recognition of her leadership and service, Lisa was named the 2025 Woman of the Year by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.
