Volunteer Opportunity for Youth Mentoring at Local Schools in Jackson County, Georgia
Requirements for potential mentors:
Attend a 1-hour new mentor training session: We will equip you with resources for building an impactful mentoring relationship.
New Mentor Training Sessions are listed below and on the events tab.
Undergo the screening process: National Criminal Background Check with Sex Offender Registry + School Screening Process
Mentors meet with their students in the school of their choice for 30 minutes weekly. As a best practice, the requirement is two to four meetings a month in the school.
Mentors will also agree to adhere to the safety precautions outlined by the schools and mentoring program.

We are pausing our mentor training classes in April due to our 20th Anniversary Gala Event & testing in schools.
We will host new mentor training sessions in May for volunteers who want to start mentoring in August 2025. Please fill out your online mentor application if you are interested in becoming a mentor. We will notify you when we add new training times.
